A CONFECTIONERY MANUFACTURER WITH A LONG HISTORY
- Our client is a long-established confectionery manufacturer based in the Magdeburg area and was recently acquired by a strategic investor from the confectionery industry
- The production facility manufactures high-quality products, primarily private-label items, supplemented by the company’s own brands
- In addition to the German retail market, the company primarily supplies international markets, where significant further potential is anticipated
- The production site is certified (IFS and ISO 50001), but has suffered from a lack of investment in recent years, a situation the new owner now intends to change; plans call for a significant modernization and technical upgrade of the site
- Against this backdrop, the role of Plant and Site Manager (m/f/d) has been newly created to drive optimization and investment projects forward and actively develop the site
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing the production site in all operational matters, maintaining close ties to the shop floor and leading production and engineering
- Monitoring all process parameters to achieve the targeted quality while simultaneously realizing cost efficiencies
- Continuously evaluating the existing structural and process landscape and identifying weaknesses and opportunities in production and engineering
- Developing targeted initiatives to optimize productivity, including the implementation of CIP/LEAN principles, maintenance concepts, automation, and new shop floor routines
- Implementation of these optimizations in a manner compatible with the organization and the gradual development of corresponding competencies, systems, and technologies
- Planning, project management, and implementation of capital investments
YOUR OPPORTUNITIES
- Assuming a key role in the strategic development and future setup of the site
- Becoming part of the management team reporting directly to senior management
- Joining a close-knit, values-driven corporate culture with flat hierarchies and a strong spirit of collaboration
- An attractive balance of operational and strategic responsibilities
- A high degree of autonomy with extensive opportunities to shape the site’s future development

YOUR PROFILE
- Extensive leadership experience in production and engineering at a manufacturing company, ideally in the food or near-food sector
- A forward-thinking manager with an affinity for mid-sized companies, capable of working independently and with a proven track record in productivity improvement
- Expertise in process, procedure, and plant optimization
- A motivating and articulate modern leader with experience in building and gradually developing teams and talent
- Proficient in ERP systems and MS Office
- Technical training (or degree) and ongoing professional development through practical experience
