We are seeking an experienced professional to serve as Head of Procurement for the corporate group (m/f/d) on behalf of our client, a highly successful and innovative manufacturer of high-quality food products.
Your Challenge:
- Ensuring the efficient, sustainable, and economically successful procurement of raw materials and packaging for the entire corporate group
- Identifying strategic and operational cost-reduction opportunities and implementing them in collaboration with the respective category buyers
- Establishing and further developing supplier management (evaluation, maintenance, development, approval)
- Conducting price negotiations and concluding appropriate contracts for the short-, medium-, and long-term procurement of raw materials and packaging, and ensuring availability
- Ensuring and optimizing appropriate processes with regard to risk management in procurement
- Responsible for all internal and external (including international) audits in the area of raw materials and packaging procurement in collaboration with Quality Assurance
- Analyzing and monitoring procurement markets, competitors, and market fluctuations, and deriving short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts
- Continuously supporting and optimizing the company’s sustainability efforts
What sets you apart:
- A degree in business or a comparable professional qualification
- Several years of successful professional experience in procurement within the food industry
- In-depth knowledge of strategic and operational procurement
- Extensive experience in supplier management and negotiation
- In-depth knowledge of the food industry, particularly in the areas of raw materials and packaging markets, quality standards (e.g., IFS, BRIC), food safety, and sustainability and compliance requirements
- Business-level proficiency in spoken and written German and English. Any additional languages are a plus.
- Analytical and strategic thinking, negotiation skills, leadership, strong communication skills, and integrity
