For our location in Boxberg-Schweigern, we are seeking a:
Shipping Manager (m/f/d)
Your Responsibilities
- Managing and developing the assigned staff in the areas of shipping, the vehicle fleet, and overseeing the five branches and their personnel
- Ensuring the proper and timely planning and execution of our customer deliveries and supply runs to the branch offices
- Compliance with legal and internal company requirements, such as driving and rest periods, working time regulations, ISO and IFS standards, as well as EU and DIN regulations for temperature-controlled transport, etc.
- Ensuring adequate availability of vehicles and their equipment
- Managing external service providers such as software vendors and freight forwarders
- Organizing and preparing regular business reviews
- Ensuring adequate monitoring and availability of returnable containers
- Conducting regular optimization analyses of warehouse locations
- Serving as the interface between production, warehousing, customer service, and shipping
Your Profile
- A college degree with a focus on supply chain management or vocational training in logistics with relevant continuing education
- In-depth knowledge of and proficiency in using route planning software and telematics systems
- In-depth expertise in the legal fundamentals of logistics and the AZO
- Extensive experience with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Navision, etc.)
- Strong negotiation skills and confidence in dealing with freight forwarders and managing their contracts
- Knowledge of the latest version of the General German Freight Forwarders’ Terms and Conditions (ADSp)
- Knowledge of plant-based transportation, supplier pickups, and internal transportation
- Knowledge of cargo security, truck loading, and load securing
- Leadership experience
- Assertiveness and the ability to handle stress
- Initiative, reliability, and a structured approach to work
