The Union der Deutschen Kartoffelwirtschaft e. V. (UNIKA) and the German Potato Trade Association (DKHV) are the strong voice of the German potato industry. From our joint office in Berlin-Mitte, we represent the interests of our member companies and associations towards politics, administration and the public. At the same time, we play an active role in shaping key issues for the future of the industry.
We are looking for a committed and motivated person to succeed us as Managing Director.
Your tasks:
- Strategic and operational management of the associations, including budget, personnel and organizational responsibility
- Development and implementation of political and technical strategies
- Representation of the associations at national and European level, networking with politics, associations and business
- Close cooperation with presidents and board members
- Representing the interests of the potato industry in national and European committees
The two associations DKHV and UNIKA are planning to merge into a new umbrella organization by the end of the year. As Managing Director, you will actively support and shape this process. You will merge structures and working methods and develop a common strategic direction. In doing so, you will take advantage of the opportunities that arise and play a decisive role in shaping the future organization with a great deal of creative freedom.
Your profile:
- You have preferably completed a degree in agricultural science and/or have already gained professional experience in a company in the agricultural sector or an agriculture-related association.
- you are characterized by persuasiveness, perseverance, decisiveness, negotiating skills and personal integrity. You can inspire people and lead a highly motivated and committed team.
- You are communicative, team-oriented and able to reach consensus. Your organizational skills are well above average. You work in a structured and strategically well thought-out manner, whereby experience in trade, political work as well as public relations and/or PR work is an advantage.
- You are business fluent in English, any other foreign language is an advantage. Mobility and a willingness to travel are a matter of course for you.
