Our client is part of an internationally active corporate group and one of Europe’s leading food manufacturers in its segment. State-of-the-art production facilities, meticulous processing, and comprehensive quality controls in accordance with international standards guarantee great taste and the highest product quality—from raw materials to finished goods. The product range includes both branded and private-label products. As part of a planned succession plan, our client is now seeking an experienced professional to serve as the new Head (f/m/d) of Quality Management at its production and corporate location in the Greater Bremen area.
In this position, you will be responsible for and oversee all quality management (QM) activities at the site, consistently align them with food and consumer safety requirements, and promote the communication and embedding of a vibrant food safety culture throughout the entire workforce (over 600 employees). You will lead and develop the teams assigned to you—including Quality Assurance, Raw Material Receiving, and the Laboratory—drive the continuous improvement of quality standards, HACCP, and TACCP concepts, and oversee internal and external audits. In this context, you are responsible for technical inspections and safety in the production process, incident and recall management, as well as root cause analysis for complaints, and you derive tailored measures based on these findings. In addition, you will define and analyze quality-related KPIs and ensure that reporting and documentation comply with GFSI standards. Last but not least, you will serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and certification bodies and support plant management in product development as well as in managing potential crises. You will report directly to the Regional Head of Quality for the corporate group.
After completing a degree in a scientific or technical field—such as food technology, nutrition science, food chemistry, or process engineering—you have gained several years of professional and leadership experience in a quality management role within the food or pharmaceutical industry or related fields. You have in-depth knowledge of industry-specific quality and hygiene standards (IFS, HACCP, GMP, DIN-ISO, BRC, TACCP, VACCP, etc.), are familiar with root-cause analyses and the corrective actions derived from them, and bring process engineering expertise in modern production methods such as Lean, TPM, and continuous improvement (KVP). In addition, you have a good understanding of food defense and food law. You navigate matrix structures with ease and collaborate confidently with various stakeholders. On a personal level, you impress with your engaging manner, analytical expertise, confident demeanor, and the necessary assertiveness. Fluency in English and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently—including in intercultural settings—are crucial given the company’s international focus.
