QUALIFICATIONS
Do you have several years of experience in purchasing, ideally—though not required—in the food industry or food retail, perhaps even in the sectors of chocolate, sugar, nuts, etc.? Do you possess strong negotiation skills, are you familiar with the mechanisms and influencing factors in international procurement, and, if possible, do you have knowledge of commodity futures trading on exchanges, price indexation, and hedging against price fluctuations, etc.? Can you develop strategies for product groups and suppliers, define tools and processes, and implement them sustainably within the organization? Do strategic and cross-functional thinking and action count among your strengths, are you proficient in the relevant procurement tools, and are you accustomed to managing your area of responsibility using KPIs? Do you have a strong focus on quality and cost awareness and a keen eye for potential savings? Do you also have a basic understanding of procurement law and contract management, and can you confidently represent your area of responsibility in both German and English? RESPONSIBILITIES
As Team Leader for Food Raw Materials Procurement, you will serve as both a buyer and an expert for defined product categories while leading a team of buyers. Together with your team, you will ensure an optimal supply of goods at all times, initially with a focus on our German location. Subsequently, you will integrate additional product categories and product areas into the purchasing function and, in the long term, also take on the purchasing of specific product categories for other international locations. You will analyze procurement markets, process inquiries and quotes, conduct negotiations independently, and conclude sustainable contracts. You will develop and implement tools for efficient procurement management, track and monitor performance and savings, and manage procurement based on KPIs. Furthermore, you will develop and implement procurement strategies, maintain and foster collaboration with existing suppliers, identify new procurement sources, and develop them into high-performing partners, always in compliance with quality and sustainability requirements. Due to the strategic importance of this position, you will report directly to the COO. You have the option to work remotely or in a hybrid model, but should be on-site occasionally or as needed, for a few days each month.
