WELL-KNOWN FOOD BRAND MANUFACTURER

  • Our client is a well-known, family-owned German brand manufacturer with sales in the lower three-digit million-euro range
  • The company markets sustainably produced product lines under several strong brands that enjoy an excellent reputation among retailers and consumers
  • The company is characterized by a strong focus on trends and innovation and has further growth potential in its primary sales channel—food retail—as well as in foodservice and e-commerce
  • Its primary sales territory is the DACH region and selected European markets
  • As part of a succession plan, we are now seeking an operationally strong Sales Director (m/f/d) who will manage the existing business with a focus on results, systematically expand new sales channels (e.g., e-commerce, etc.), and tap into new markets
  • Depending on qualifications, there is potential to advance to a Commercial Director role (including leadership of marketing); reporting line to senior management

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic and operational leadership of sales in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH), plus exports
  • Management of a team comprising N-KAMS, R-KAMS, Sales Support, Field Force, and Customer Service, as well as Trade Marketing/Category Management
  • Identifying and systematically tapping into potential for product listings and distribution, as well as portfolio and innovation initiatives
  • Development and implementation of product category and marketing strategies in close collaboration with Marketing
  • Leading the operational activities of the KAM team and direct operational involvement with strategically important customers, including customer visits
  • Consistent net revenue management and continuous organizational development (training) to enhance operational excellence in sales
  • Close collaboration with senior management on the strategic direction of sales

YOUR PROFILE

  • Several years of experience in leadership roles at a branded food manufacturer, as a Sales Manager (m/f/d) or Key Account Director (m/f/d)
  • Extensive experience with year-end and annual sales reviews in the German retail sector, with well-developed negotiation skills
  • Strong assertiveness regarding terms and pricing to drive the results-oriented growth of key accounts
  • Ideally, with complementary expertise in tapping into sales potential in foodservice and e-commerce channels
  • A person of integrity who avoids silo thinking, is conceptually strong, and demonstrates true “doer” qualities in implementation without losing sight of the overall business perspective
  • A motivator and team player with a modern approach to leadership and strong communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration; business-fluent English
