With annual raw milk deliveries exceeding 1.3 billion kilograms, Meierei Barmstedt eG is one of the largest dairy processing companies in Germany. At our two locations in Barmstedt and Neumünster, we process raw milk according to the highest technical and hygienic standards into sliced cheese, pasta filata/mozzarella cheese, butter, whey powder, cream, and milk and whey concentrates. For our production departments—Processing/Evaporation and Butter Production—at our Barmstedt location, we are seeking several highly qualified and personable employees (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible as
Machine and Plant Operators (m/f/d)
Your Responsibilities
In the Processing Room department:
- Operating the machinery and equipment for milk reception, milk and whey separation, milk heating, cooling, and storage, kettle milk preparation, and cream ripening, as well as cleaning these systems
- Operating the evaporation and filtration systems for the production of whey concentrates and for water treatment
- Supervising employees during the respective shift
- Taking and analyzing samples when the lab is unavailable
- Maintaining the relevant documentation
In the Butter Production Department:
- Production of mildly acidified and sweet cream butter
- Supervising and operating the various molding machines (25 kg, 10 kg, and 2.5 kg blocks; 250 g, 20 g, 15 g, and 10 g pieces) with a carton packer and palletizing system
- Cleaning the machines and equipment
- Supervising employees during their respective shifts
- Troubleshooting
- Executing production schedules
- Monitoring the butterfat content and maintaining all production records
- Transferring finished goods to the cold storage room
- Sorting products by item number / batch / best-by date
- Loading the butter according to the loading list
- Receiving packaging materials and storing them in the packaging materials warehouse
- Entering transactions into the inventory management system
Your Profile
- You have completed an apprenticeship as a dairy technologist (m/f/d) or as a food technology specialist (m/f/d)—or hold a comparable qualification.
- Career changers, such as bakers, machine and plant operators (m/f/d), or similar, are also welcome.
- You are a team player and can work independently.
- You are willing to work in a 3-shift operation as well as on weekends and holidays.
