QUALIFICATION
Do you have several years of experience in purchasing, ideally – but not necessarily – in the food industry or food trade, perhaps even in the areas of chocolate, sugar, nuts, etc.? Do you have strong negotiating skills, are you familiar with the mechanisms and influencing factors in international purchasing and, if possible, are you familiar with commodity futures transactions on stock exchanges, price indexing, hedging against price fluctuations, etc.? Can you develop strategies for product groups and suppliers, define tools and processes and implement these sustainably in the organization? Are strategic and cross-divisional thinking and action among your strengths, are you proficient in the relevant purchasing tools and are you used to managing your area of responsibility using KPIs? Do you have a high level of quality and cost awareness and a keen sense for potential savings? Do you also have basic knowledge of purchasing law and contract management and can you confidently represent your area of responsibility in German and English? And are you now looking for a new role in which you can not only demonstrate your expertise in operational purchasing, but also take on the further expansion, realignment and, in the long term, the management of our purchasing organization?

TASK
As Team Leader Purchasing Food Raw Materials, you will be a purchaser and expert for defined product groups on the one hand and lead a team of purchasers on the other. Together with your team, you will ensure an optimal supply of goods at all times, initially focusing on our German site. Subsequently, you will integrate further product groups and product areas into purchasing and, in the future, also take over the purchasing of certain product groups for other international locations. You will analyze procurement markets, process inquiries and offers, conduct negotiations independently and conclude sustainable contracts. You will develop and establish tools for the efficient management of purchasing, monitor and supervise performance and savings and manage purchasing using KPIs. You will also develop and implement procurement strategies, maintain and promote cooperation with existing suppliers, tap into new procurement sources and develop them into efficient partners, always in compliance with quality and sustainability requirements. Due to the strategic importance of this position, you will report directly to the COO. You will have the opportunity to work remotely/hybrid, but should be on site for a few days a month from time to time or as required.
