With an annual delivery of over 1.3 billion kilograms of raw milk, Meierei Barmstedt eG is one of the largest milk-processing companies in Germany. At our two sites in Barmstedt and Neumünster, we process raw milk to the highest technical and hygienic standards to produce semi-hard cheese, pasta filata/mozzarella cheese, butter, whey powder, cream and milk and whey concentrates. The products are sold to wholesalers, retailers, bulk consumers and industrial processors in Germany and abroad. With around 300 employees, including 18 trainees, we generate a turnover of almost 800 million euros.
For our laboratory at the Neumünster site, we are looking to strengthen our team as soon as possible with a professionally and personally convincing
Laboratory Manager (m/f/d)
Your tasks
- Technical and organizational management of the internal company laboratory
- Planning, implementation and monitoring of microbiological and chemical-physical analyses of raw milk, intermediate and end products such as cheese and whey powder
- Ensuring compliance with all food regulations, quality standards and hygiene requirements
- Responsibility for sample management, analysis documentation and evaluation and approval of results
- Management, motivation and further development of the laboratory team
- Optimization and further development of laboratory processes, test methods and quality controls
- Preparation and support of audits, certifications and inspections by authorities
- Close cooperation with the Production and Quality Assurance departments
Your profile
- Completed studies in the field of food technology, food chemistry, dairy food technology, biology, microbiology, laboratory master or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in a laboratory in the food industry, ideally in a dairy or in the dairy sector
- Experience in the technical or disciplinary management of employees desirable
- Sound knowledge of relevant quality and food safety standards (HACCP, IFS Food)
- Confident handling of laboratory and documentation systems and MS Office
- Structured, analytical and solution-oriented way of working
- Strong communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility
